Boatneck: Boatneck is a type of neckline that follows the curve of the collarbone and is wide in the front and back.

Diecast: Die casting is a process where metal is injected into a mold under high pressure to form an object or shape.

Flexfit: Flexfit hats are one size fits most hats that use a poly-weave spandex fabric and are ergonomically designed.

Heavyweight: Refers to fabric weight. Heavyweight fabric is thick and warm and is most often used in base layers.

Juvenile: Juvenile refers to sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7. The term is a Nike prominent term that is the same as pre-school.

Lightweight: Refers to fabric weight. Lightweight fabric has an airy weave and works well as a base layer. This fabric works well in aerobic and cool weather apparel.

Medium weight: Refers to fabric weight. Medium weight fabrics have a tighter weave than lightweight fabrics. This fabric provides more warmth than lightweight fabric, and also pulls moisture away from the skin.

Moisture Wicking Technologies: The following trademarked terms are used to describe slightly different technologies that pull sweat from your body to the surface of the clothing fabric where it evaporates. The technology is designed to help you stay cool:
  • adidas ClimaLite
  • adidas ClimaCool
  • CoolMax
  • Cutter and Buck DryTec
  • Nike Dri-FIT
  • Russel Dri-Power
  • Reebok Play Dry

One fit: One fit hats are one size fits all hats that have an elastic band on the inside.

Ribbed/rib knit: Rib knit is a type of stitch used in knitting. The knitting machines use two sets of angled needles. Rib knits have high crosswise elasticity. Rib knit sweaters often are snug-fitting.

Stacked: Stacked refers to a style of graphic by adidas.

Structured: Structured hats have buckram fabric (a liner) in the front two panels, making them stiffer in the front than an unstructured hat.

Two fit: Two fit hats break down sizing into two categories so that the fit is more accurate. For example, Fit A fits size XS-M and Fit B fits sizes L-XL.

Tackle Twill: A process where letters, numbers, logos and designs are cut from fabric and sewn onto garments. The material is generally kept in place with an adhesive backing and the edges are sewn using a zig-zag stitch.
